Open-access TIPS Journal marks the milestone with a new website built for practitioners, researchers and the public
Hamilton, Ontario – October 1, 2026 – The Infection Prevention Strategy (TIPS) is pleased to announce that the TIPS Journal (InfectionControl.tips) has passed 4.4 million reads since its launch on November 15, 2015, and today launches a new website for the journal.
“One person can make a difference, and everyone should try. Every one of those 4.4 million reads is a practitioner, researcher or member of the public who came looking for clear, practical science – and found it free to read. This milestone belongs to our volunteer authors, reviewers and Advisory Board.”
– Michael Diamond, Executive Director, TIPS
The TIPS Journal (ISSN 2369-7342) publishes peer-reviewed research and Perspective articles on infection prevention from contributors around the world. Its most-read articles include 6 Factors That Have Caused Antibiotic Resistance (more than 400,000 reads) and Insurance Companies Pay the Price for HAIs (more than 330,000 reads).
The new website makes the journal’s work easier to find, read and share:
- All articles sorted into 13 clear topics, from Hand Hygiene to Antimicrobial Resistance & Stewardship
- Peer-reviewed research with downloadable scientific PDFs, citations and reviewer credits on every article
- Author pages for 200 contributors
- A simple online proposal process for new Peer-Reviewed and Perspective articles
