Preventing Legionnaires’ Disease and other Waterborne Pathogens
Newark Liberty International Airport Marriott
November 7, 2019 Newark, NJ
Legionnaires’ disease and other diseases due to waterborne opportunistic pathogens in healthcare and other facilities is a serious issue. Legionella is now responsible for more than 50% of waterborne outbreaks and is continuing to increase in the United States.
Recommendations, guidelines and regulations have recently been published, including those from NASEM, New York State, ASHRAE, CMS, Veterans Administration and the CDC to address the issue of waterborne opportunistic pathogens.
The Infection Prevention Strategy (TIPS) is pleased to present a Master Class entitled: Preventing Legionnaires’ Disease and other Waterborne Pathogens. This one-day free event will offer the opportunity to review these new documents to build a better understanding of the recommendations and how they might be applied in healthcare settings.
